The Abyss is Mares top performing regulator which can cope with even the most extreme conditions. The first stage is the result of years of research, which has produced an outstanding balanced diaphragm regulator with Dynamic Flow Control (DFC).
The Mares Abyss is is set up to withstand the rigors of all extreme diving and is a particular favourite of technical divers.

The second stage is made from nickel and chrome plated brass and has the Vortex Assisted Design which allows the reg to deliver a incredible amount of air with minimal amount of resistance.
The NEW mesh grid design front cover diffuses water pressure over the diaphragm virtually eliminating risk of free flows.
The Mares MR22 Abyss has been tested by the Notified Body INPP of Marseilles with binary (Heliox) and temary (Trimix) mixtures to a depth of 100 metres. The results were compliant with the recommendations of European Regulation EN250 and breathing effort proved to be much lower than the regulation requires!
