The popularity of SwimRun grows year on year and with more and more events being added to the calender all over the globe, people are using these events to travel the world. The swim element of a Swim run event usually takes place in open water, with varying lengths of swim interspersed between running. Often events insist you compete in a team of 2 people tethered together by a bungee for safety. Unlike triathlon swims you are allowed to use aids such as pullbuoys, hand paddles and even swim training fins, athough these then have to be carried during the run. The sport started in Sweden but has now spread throughout the world.
