Phelps' modern take on the Swedish-style goggle. For the Phelps Chronos goggles, Phelps didn't settle - using their patent-pending Geoplex lens technology to offer distortion-free, superior vision in each direction. And for your long training days, you'll appreciate the Softeril micro gasket for better comfort and watertight fit.
What our product tester says
I am a long time Swedish Goggle user, I swear by them, they never leak, they are really comfortable and they are infinitely adjustable so I am always sceptical when a manufacturer tries to "improve" them...
I have now been using the Phelps MP Chronos for the last couple of weeks in morning training sessions and I have to say they are quite brilliant, dare I say even better than earlier versions of the swedish style goggles I've used. No leaks, no need for extreme tightening of the strap and I have even left the clips on the strap regardless of my urge to take them off and just tie a knot.
I did change the silicone nose bridge for the string option which is supplied just because that's how I prefer my goggles but I reckon the silicone could work just as well.
These goggles are crystal clear in my local indoor pool and have great peripheral vision just like the original Swedish goggles and because of this I will even use them in open water once the sea warms up a bit.
The lenses are lower profile at the top than the bottom so have reduced chance of a problem on a racing start if you get it a bit wrong.
I would certainly recommend the Phelps Chronos swimming goggles for Racing and they are easily comfortable enough for those long dark hours of slogging up and down the pool staring at the black line.
