The new Orca Women's Athlex FLEX wetsuit offers a combination of high elasticity and medium buoyancy, for swimmers who are able to maintain a good position in the water without added buoyancy. The thin materials in the upper body and those of medium thickness in the legs result in a wetsuit that provides maximum freedom of movement.
Orca’s Athlex FLEX wetsuit is aimed at anyone with a strong swimming background and already have a reasonably solid swimming technique, making these a good choice if you’re an experienced pool swimmer moving to open water for the first time. The suit is designed to maintain your natural body position while the 1.5mm neoprene on the arms causes minimal interference to your normal swimming stroke. The Athlex FLEX is recommend to female swimmers who often find that many swimming suits with more buoyancy around the hips and legs lift their legs/feet too high in the water.
The Athlex FLEX is the ideal open water swimming wetsuit if you consider yourself a regular swimmer or possibly had a swimming background and are looking for a swimming wetsuit to provide you with maximum flexibility, a second skin, that let's you continue swimming without having to change your technique. You've probably determined that you have good overall technique and generally maintain a good hydrodynamic, body position and so require less buoyancy and some thermal protection. For a 'natural' swimmer the Orca Athlex FLEX Open Water Swimming & Triathlon Wetsuit should encompass all your requirements.
39+: The increased flexibility of Yamamoto 39 neoprene, combined with the high elasticity of Infinity Skin 2 lining, provides open water swimmers with maximum freedom of movement. Thanks to this combination, 35% less force is required in fast movements than in conventional neoprene. For slow movements and wider strokes, 45% less force is required than in conventional neoprene. SCS coating also helps reduce friction and water resistance, improving hydrodynamics and increasing speed.
39 FS: Elasticity, maximum flexibility and total freedom of movement are brought together thanks to the combination of Yamamoto 39 neoprene, Infinity Skin 2 lining and smooth skin surface finish. With this combination, the open water swimmer will use 35% less force in fast movements and short strokes, while slower and wider movements will require 45% less force than any other conventional neoprene.
38+: Yamamoto 38 provides more compression for a better fitting wetsuit, for greater comfort when swimming in open water. For greater hydrodynamics, SCS coating is used which reduces water resistance, increasing speed.
